Steve is a litigator and trial lawyer with 15 years of experience who has defended insurance carriers, corporations, financial institutions and other business clients in a wide range of matters.  His practice primarily includes representation of insurance carriers in defense of claims and matters of disputed coverage, as well as business clients  in commercial disputes.  His experience has included defense of claims alleging personal injury and wrongful death, professional negligence, property damage and business interruption, including losses due to explosion, fire, structural collapse and water infiltration, as well as claims of construction defects, product liability and equipment failure, business torts, breach of contract, breach of warranty, breach of fiduciary duty, misrepresentation, and fraud.   Steve is licensed to practice in all state and federal courts in Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota, as well as the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.  He likewise has ample experience in representing clients in need of alternative dispute resolution, including mediations and arbitrations, and has prosecuted and defended numerous cases on appeal.  Steve is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and currently serves as the Vice President of the Iowa Chapter of ABOTA.  He is also an active member of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel and maintains an AV (highest) peer review rating with Martindale-Hubbell.
