ALFA International
Whitfield & Eddy, P.L.C., is the only Iowa law firm belonging to the ALFA International legal network, an international organization of independent law firms seeking to improve the quality and efficiency of legal services and to provide those services to clients at a reasonable cost. The organization also offers member firms and their clients a wide range of educational programs (seminars, tele-seminars, legal compendia, etc.). ALFA International is the oldest legal network of its kind and remains one of the largest. The organization is comprised of 125 member law firms with nearly 300 offices throughout the United States and around the world. The 85 American firms and 40 international members employ over 8,000 lawyers and 10,000 legal support staff.
Membership in ALFA is stringent and is based upon peer evaluation of the candidate law firm. ALFA firms are consistently recognized for their outstanding trial work, but most members maintain broad general practices that can serve virtually all client needs. As an ALFA member, Whitfield & Eddy, P.L.C. is able to draw upon the vast resources of the network's membership to better serve its clients. ALFA affiliation also facilitates and expedites the retention of skilled and experienced counsel in unfamiliar jurisdictions, another significant client benefit.
Whitfield & Eddy attorneys take an active leadership role in ALFA International. Currently, members of the firm are serving on the steering committees of several ALFA International practice groups, including Construction, Insurance and Transportation.

Employers Counsel Network
Whitfield & Eddy, P.L.C., is the only Iowa law firm belonging to the Employers Counsel Network, an
association of top-level law firms in all 50 states plus Washington, D.C. and Canada that advise and
represent employers regarding workplace-related issues and disputes. Each firm in the Network was

is to help employers find legal counsel for HR, labor, or employment law matters, even when these issues
cross state lines.
Attorneys at each ECN firm are well known as the editors of their state's Employment Law Letter, a
monthly newsletter distributed by M. Lee Smith Publishers for human resources professionals. Greg Naylor
