Whitfield & Eddy member Attorney Nicholas O. Cooper was recently published in the National Association of Licensing and Compliance Professionals’ March 2013 newsletter. Cooper’s article addresses the Iowa Program for Alcohol Compliance Training (“I-PACT”) which seeks to prevent underage alcohol sales by effectively training current or prospective employees of on- and off-premises licensees.

Attorney Steve Doohen has been inducted into the Iowa Academy of Trial Lawyers as a “Fellow.” Membership in the Academy is limited to 250 attorneys who have displayed exceptional skills as well as the highest integrity, and have dedicated their professional lives to trial practice. Membership is by invitation only, with recommendations from peers, judges, and unanimous approval by the Board of Governors.

Member Drew J. Gentsch served as a research contributor to a forthcoming publication from the American Bar Association. The book, entitled “The Contract Bond Surety’s Subrogation Rights,” will be distributed in May.

Member Jaki K. Samuelson was recently elected vice president of the Iowa Academy of Trial Lawyers for 2013-2014. Samuelson, a Fellow with the Academy, has served on the Board of Directors since 2008. Membership in the Academy is by invitation only and limited to 250 attorneys. Membership in the Academy is considered one of the highest honors in the profession.
