Whitfield & Eddy is actively engaged in representing motor carriers in various matters where expertise in federal motor carrier transportation law is required. This practice group started over 40 years ago when our late partner, William “Bill” Fairbank, initially specialized in representation at hearings throughout the United States before the Interstate Commerce Commission in operating rights cases. After deregulation of the motor carrier industry in 1980, Bill expanded his representation of motor carrier clients by offering numerous other services where familiarity with the trucking business and regulations was a prerequisite, such as cargo claims, Department of Transportation audits, shipper-carrier contracts and business consulting. Since that time, our attorneys have continued to work with motor carriers addressing all of their legal needs. The firm is a member of the Transportation Lawyers Association, Association of Transportation Law Professionals, and the Iowa Motor Truck Association. Bernard (Jerry) L. Spaeth is the American Law Firm Association’s (ALFA) Trucking and Transportation Law Practice Group, Iowa Contact.
