Overview

Katrina Do is an associate attorney in the Whitfield & Eddy Law business and banking practice group and advises large national banks, insurance companies, financing institutions, and other lenders and creditors on how to best structure and negotiate their financing transactions. Katrina also provides legal advice to corporations of various sizes and industries, including technology, health care, and real estate companies. Her experience includes business formations, mergers and acquisitions, asset purchase and sale transactions, and financing instruments of all types.

Katrina is a strategic business partner and supports clients’ needs by continually monitoring data privacy developments, market conditions and other risk factors affecting business and operations. She works with business owners and managers on complex compliance and risk mitigation practices involved in U.S. data privacy as a Certified Information Privacy Professional in United States law (CIPP/US) through the International Association of Privacy Professionals. She has developed and drafted privacy policies, notices, terms of use, and other user-facing policies regarding data handling and storage to ensure compliance with privacy laws.

UIC John Marshall Law School

While at the University of Illinois at Chicago John Marshall Law School, she was Production Editor of The John Marshall Law Review. She was a law clerk for Levin & Perconti in Chicago, Illinois, and Meredith Corporation in Des Moines, Iowa. At Meredith, she monitored privacy policy and self-regulatory privacy compliance and worked closely with outside and general counsel on privacy-related projects and audits. She evaluated first- and third-party data privacy and security risks. She is the author of A Price to Pay: Determining the Optimum Price of Data Protection to Establish Imminent Injury and Standing in Data-Breach Cases, 13 the crit: Critical Stud. J. (2019).
