Anjela Shutts Receives Polk County Bar Association Award of Merit

Whitfield & Eddy Law attorney Anjela Shutts received the Polk County Bar Association (PCBA) Award of Merit at the group's annual meeting and law clerk luncheon on June 13, 2017. The Award of Merit is given to recipients on special occasions by the PCBA Board of Directors and is the highest honor in the organization.

She has been an advocate for access to justice and leader of many organizations in the legal community including: 

  • Vice-Chair of the Iowa Supreme Court Access to Justice Commission
  • Iowa State Bar Association Family Law Case Processing Reform Task Force Steering Committee
  • Iowa State Judicial Nominating Commission for Polk County
  • Polk County Bar Association, President, 2013
  • Polk County Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Project, Board Member 1997-2008, President 2003-2008
  • Polk County Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Project volunteer since 1996
