Jennifer Chavez-Rivera Joins Whitfield & Eddy Law


Jennifer B. Chavez-Rivera has joined Whitfield & Eddy Law as an associate attorney in the firm's Business and Banking practice group. Ms. Chavez-Rivera will work with financial institutions and lenders on commercial lending transactions and matters. She will also be involved with real estate and wills, trusts, and estates matters.

Ms. Chavez-Rivera is a high honors, class of 2020 graduate of the Drake University Law School. She served as Vice President of Drake Law’s Student Bar Association and Articles Editor for the Drake Law Review. Ms. Chavez-Rivera received a B.A. in both Political Science and Ethics and Public Policy from the University of Iowa in 2017, where she was a member of the University’s Honors Program and a Research Fellow at the Iowa Center for Research by Undergraduates.

Prior to receiving her J.D., Ms. Chavez-Rivera was a law clerk at Whitfield & Eddy. She also worked as a Judicial Intern for Chief Judge Anita Shodeen at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of Iowa and interned at the Wells Fargo Legal Department in Des Moines as a Cady Law Opportunity Fellow at Drake University Law School.

Ms. Chavez-Rivera is fluent in reading, writing, and speaking both English and Spanish and assists Whitfield & Eddy clients with interpretation and translation services.
