Overview

Colin is a member of the firm's litigation practice group, where he represents clients in civil disputes across a range of industries, including construction, insurance defense, and transportation. He works closely with clients from the earliest stages of a case, helping them assess risk, build a strategy, and make informed decisions before a dispute escalates. His approach favors early, clear-eyed case assessment over reactive litigation.

notable matters

Colin recently obtained a favorable summary judgment ruling on behalf of the employer in an Iowa workers' compensation case, successfully arguing the employer was exempt from coverage under Iowa law. The decision resulted in the complete dismissal of the claimant’s benefits claim. He also represented a workers’ compensation carrier in complex multiparty wrongful death litigation, securing a favorable settlement that protected and recovered the carrier’s lien interests. The resolution effectively balanced competing claims among multiple parties while maximizing the carrier’s recovery.
