Whitfield & Eddy Celebrates 92nd Birthday with Food Bank of Iowa Donation
August 6 marks the 92nd birthday of Whitfield & Eddy Law. Unfortunately, we are not able to celebrate this milestone with our friends and colleagues in our offices in Des Moines and Mount Pleasant, Iowa.
People are in greater need than ever before during this pandemic and to honor the firm’s commitment to the community, we have donated $1,000 to the Food Bank of Iowa in lieu of our usual firm gathering. The Food Bank of Iowa provides food to Iowans in need and food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters. We regularly support the Food Bank through Combat Hunger in November.
This commitment to our community has been present since we started. August 6 is also the birthday of Oakridge Neighborhood Services, a Whitfield & Eddy client and a sustained pro bono effort of the firm since its inception fifty years ago. A vital community resource, Oakridge is the most culturally diverse neighborhood in Des Moines and houses over 1,100 residents in 339 housing units.
