Drake Law School Scholarship Gift in Memory of Gary A. Norton
Whitfield & Eddy Law provided a gift in honor of Gary A. Norton to the Drake Law School that was presented to Dean Jerry Anderson on April 19, 2022 by John Moorlach, Tom Burke, Barb Norton, and Jeffrey Goetz, president of the Iowa Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. The gift is to support Gary's interest in law and legacy in supporting students of Drake Law School.
Gary was a founder of the All-Iowa Bankruptcy Conference. He was active in the Iowa Chapter of the Federal Bar Association including past chair of the seminar committee, the American Bankruptcy Institute, and a former member of the Midwest Bankruptcy Institute Advisory Board. He practiced law at Whitfield & Eddy Law 1985 —2017. Gary served Drake Law School as an adjunct professor of law, teaching Secured Transactions. He passed away on December 23, 2020 after a courageous battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
The gift to the Drake Law School Annual Fund was also funded by the Iowa Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and Telpner Peterson Law.
