Steve Marso Inducted as Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers

10.29.2025

On October 11, 2025, Whitfield & Eddy Law member Steve Marso was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL) before an audience of almost 1000 at the ACTL’s annual meeting in Washington, D.C.

Founded 75 years ago, the ACTL is an invitation-only fellowship of exceptional trial lawyers from the United States and Canada who have demonstrated the very highest standards of trial advocacy, ethical conduct, integrity, professionalism, and collegiality, and it is widely recognized as the preeminent trial-lawyer association in North America. Candidates must have at least fifteen years of trial experience before they may be considered for Fellowship, and they are identified through a confidential process. Membership from a given state or province is limited to no more than 1% of the total lawyer population of that state of province.

Following his graduation from the University of Iowa College of Law in 1999 and a two-year federal judicial clerkship, Marso joined Whitfield & Eddy Law in 2001. He practices primarily construction law, is Chair of the firm’s Construction and Surety practice group, and is also a Fellow of the Iowa Academy of Trial Lawyers.
