Katelyn Kurt Appointed Member of the Iowa Supreme Court Grievance Commission
Family law attorney Katelyn Kurt has been appointed by the Iowa Supreme Court to serve as a member of the Iowa Supreme Court Grievance Commission. Her initial term runs from June 30, 2026 through June 30, 2029.
The Grievance Commission plays a central role in maintaining the integrity of the legal profession in Iowa. Panels of four lawyers and one lay person are drawn from the commission membership to hear evidence of alleged ethical complaints against Iowa attorneys. Each panel determines whether an ethical violation has occurred and, when warranted, recommends the nature and extent of the response to the violation.
Katelyn is a member of the firm's family law practice group, where she represents individuals and families in divorce, custody, adoption, and guardianship matters. She also serves as a mediator and frequently advocates for children as a guardian ad litem in high-conflict custody disputes. Her appointment reflects her commitment to the ethical standards that guide the practice of law in Iowa.
