Four Whitfield & Eddy Law attorneys will be presenting on various topics at the Iowa State Bar Association Sesquicentennial Anniversary meeting at Prairie Meadows Events & Conference Center in Altoona, Iowa on June 25 and June 26, 2024.

Ethics Track

"If You Want Peace, Work for Justice," Rabbi Yossi Jacobson, Judaic Resource Center of Iowa; David Phipps, Attorney at Whitfield & Eddy Law; and Ordained Minister Archbishop Thomas Zinkula, Archdiocese of Dubuque; Moderator: Nicholas Critelli, CritelliLaw PC. Distinguished lawyer-leaders from around Iowa discuss the concept of justice from historical, individual, and societal perspectives and the lawyer as a facilitator for justice. The goal of this presentation is to re-affirm that lawyers are an essential part of the justice system and not only agents for their clients.

Family Law Track

"Women in the Law: Past, Present, and Future," Roxanne Conlin, Roxanne Conlin & Associates PC; Anjela Shutts, Whitfield & Eddy Law; Hon. Marsha Ternus, Former Chief Justice of the Iowa Supreme Court; Moderator: Mary Rose Shelley, Shuttleworth & Ingersoll PLC. A panel discussion regarding women in the practice of law in the state of Iowa. Panelists will discuss where we have been, where we are currently, and where the state of Iowa needs to go.
